Watch Me build this INSANE Metal Mask!
This is a handmade metalworking craft metalcraft sculpture made with hammer and anvil. Some blacksmithing techniques and suitable for museum quality display, costume or cosplay and other artistic forms. High end art and artwork. No TIG welding or MIG welding was used.
In this video I made the greatest thing I have ever made; a Memento Mori mask based on the ancient philosophy of Stoicism. This is made of bronze, copper, and aluminum. It's a wearable mask, but it's really meant to remain on display rather than to be worn. Could be a pretty rad Halloween mask though. This was made for Tim Pool of Timcast.

Metamorph Music Video (with Lyrics)
Переглядів 4,1 тис.2 роки тому
I get questions every day about the music I use in my videos. This is one of the songs I made, called Metamorph. I modified the poem by the Ancient Roman poet Ovid for the lyrics (otherwise they would not rhyme since they are originally in Latin). To make the armor you see in this video, subscribe to my channel and I teach you how! Templates to make the armor can be found at armortemplates.com/

I wanna buy it bro
It sold a few years ago for $4,500. I won't make another one because I am allergic to brass dust and I was very ill during this whole build.
I can imagine some improvements to this that would truely make it rediculous. Perhaps alittle heavier, but nothing a powered or actuated exoskeleton couldn't handle for the full suit.
How do i sign up i have a 72 impala 😮
How can you protect it from rust? I used oil and stored the Gauntlet in a dry place, but it began to rust in a few days.. What can I do?
Olive oil or WD-40 applied to it and then wiped dry should protect it reasonably. There's also museum waxes that will create a barrier. I have never used that though so I don't know the process.
i thought you just used stainless steel
YES
What metal did you use and how thick?
I know this is an old video and you don't post often, but maybe I'll get a response. I've recently started scrapping metal, but I just acquired some nice copper sheeting. Not sure what gauge it is, but it's thick enough to be sturdy but thin enough to cut with metal nippers. Would copper be a good choice for a project like this? It just looks so cool, and I'm a big fan of the bright burnt orange shine of copper lol.
Copper is a little soft, but yes you can certainly use it. I have a friend in France who makes jewelry, and she made an absolutely gorgeous one of these in copper.
@@DavidGuyton Nice! Thank you so much for the response, my guy. I'm a DL these docs and get to work when I get some nippers. 😁
brondo has what dashes crave. its has electrolytes.
Water? Like out da tullet?
I doubt this is as good as the high carbon stuff back then but as costume pieces or for less serious stuff they do very well
Wintergatan didnt lost the plot, he is just used a long way plot.
I don't care.
Why not make it an intire arm shild would be heavy but better
Wow. Can you make anymore videos on how to make a dashboard from scratch? This looks amazing
I have one other video about a dash on this channel. I plan to do more automotive stuff, but that will be on my new channel, DARC Customs
What Material is It made of? Aluminum? Tin? Intempered Iron? I need to know!
This man must have a very high iq.
How did you cut the metal out? I tryed it with this metal Scissor thing, but I couldnt get a clean cut..
There are many options. The cheapest option is aviation snips and then using files to get it to final shape. It's a lot of work but the other options are a lot more expensive and involved.
be a tougher man
Is the Template for both hands?
Flip it smartass

Hi. Anything new comming for building
Hi John. Nothing new planned. UA-cam kind of killed my channel so it's just not worth going to these lengths to make these videos of no one is ever going to see them. I don't want to quit but UA-cam is sort of forcing it on me.
if i message you can you make me one? I can pay
I seen this on Day 1 and still feel the same way . Can we trade with somthin lol ???
Have you tried putting mail on the palm of a gauntlet yet? I've seen it on extant historical gauntlets but I have not yet figured out how to do that without making the entire thing tremendously bulky, especially at the fingerseams.
I did do some experimenting with covering the palm with plates when I did my Iron Man and Infinity Gauntlets. I successfully did it on the Iron Man one, but it leaves you with absolutely no ability to feel what you are holding. I imagine the same would generally be true for doing maille on the palm. And beyond that, I can't imagine how it would be attached without making it a bulky mess, as you said.
why not just use a chainmail glove over the leather glove? before you add the plating

I post this video which demonstrates the stopping power of carbon alone. I then say to myself that if the design starts first with a good layer of carbon, would that allow the warheads to flare better from the start and reduce their penetrating power? Tell me what you think ua-cam.com/video/zIJ60zLCD_8/v-deo.htmlsi=mwhrqXkGb346w8kF Ps: For my part, I also work with grade two and five titanium with different thicknesses.

Dope 👌
If i had that Armour plus my Black Jaquar fighting Abilities no Man on Earth could stand in my way
Looks dope. It's great to see blacksmithing is still alive.
Absolutely awesome content. Very needed in these days.👍👌
Effing poser.
How durable is the steel? How hard is it to break it?
He's made this design out of 20 gauge steel so it will be very weak
It's definitely meant for show, not combat.
The articulation is brilliant
Lol I ain't got enough eddies for chrome. This should help
Sick.
Is this design and parts list still available?
Nvm I saw that it needs to be accessed from a computer. I’m now in the process
Fucking cool!!!
Cool
Fuck dude seriously what's the music. I swear fking yourubers. Greatest thing on earth and yall dissappear.
beautiful car
Curious, was that ballistic shoulder armor from a few years ago ever made it to public sales?
Too expensive to mass produce. I tried to get funding through a few places but they all shut it down as "firearms related", even though it's literally protection from firearms. It's a stupid world we live in.
@@DavidGuyton I mean.. Could I commission one?
Ох красота то какая, взять бы алебарду и ей по этому всему... эмм... ну и затрафеить кусочек)
Over exposed out of focus and geuninly badly shot u cant tell as the view wtf is going on.
I addressed that right in the beginning of the video. Go watch the Demolition Ranch video where he tested it.
What online store do you recommend getting large metal sheets from
If you have one near you, I recommend BMG metal supply. That's who I use.
Don’t have one in my area I am afraid. Tractor supply near me does but they don’t carry anything larger than 24 inches
<<Thank you David <3 amazing tutorial !!!!!
@LanaLeon You're very welcome Lana!
Beautiful! I'm hoping to veging building my own armour this weekend under a mentor.
hey man sorry for spamming when i was a kid ^_^
It would be really cool to see you make a visored barbute helm but incorporate a skull in to visor and maybe do a crown of thorns on it.
Did this mask ever make it to Tim Pool?
I was in contact with his people but they said they couldn't take it "for safety reasons"....whatever that means. I offered to drop it off with literally anyone they sent, in a public place, but they still said no.
@DavidGuyton Wow that is a bit disappointing. That mask is an absolute work of art and you did a phenomenal job! I guess I understand why they don't really want to accept gifts though, especially with all the swatting and bomb threats they have received over the past year. Keep up the good work man and I appreciate you sharing this with everyone. You have taught me alot of the years.
Excelente 👍🔥
I am quite impressed. I am a retired Marine and an ex "Security Contractor" in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I would feel safer with this than a lot of other armour I wore there. Is it 100% bullet proof? No, but neither is anything else you are going to get.
Awesome job
That looks really good man!
